About Us

Preserve Our Past was formed in 2004

Preserve Our Past (POP) was formed in the spring of 2004, when the future of the Titus Sheard Second Empire home at the top of Burke Park was found to be seriously endangered.  Our organization was successful in focusing the attention of the city on the Sheard House through publicity and a petition signing campaign.  The logo for POP is a portion of the decorative elements from the Sheard House porch railing.

Preserve Our Past has the education of the citizenry of Little Falls as one of its primary goals, and to that end publishes articles in the newspaper that focuses on a particular architectural style, using local examples.

Preserve Our Past gives a “Certificate of Recognition” each year to an individual or business that has demonstrated a dedication to preserving a significant property, thereby encouraging the community to value its buildings.

Membership is open to everyone who is supportive of our goals as presented in our mission statement.
