Board of Directors

MEETINGS – The Board of Directors of POP meet monthly on the third Tuesday evening.
Typically there are no board meetings in August or December. However, the President
may call a special meeting from time to time.  Attendance at meetings is an important part of board membership and if a member misses 3 consecutive meetings without contacting the Board President, the board will remove the member from its rolls.  At the meetings, the board reviews the past and upcoming activities of POP, oversees the work of the group and reviews and passes on policy and financial matters.  We consider ourselves to be a working board not an honorary one.

A board member is expected to be current with dues and thereby be a member in good standing.

Our fiscal year runs from July to June with an Annual Meeting with a speaker held each July. It is important that all board members attend this meeting.  Each board member shall be placed on one of several standing committees such as:  Nominating Committee, Annual Preservation Award Committee, Publicity, Newsletter Committee, Special Events Committee and the all important Fund Raising Committee.

Board members are expected to be willing to serve as officers if asked.
